Mini Adventures

We've had lots of mini adventures this winter:

We got a little bit of snow one morning before school.  Talk about excitement!

One weekend the girls and I went to see Aladdin on the West End.  Amazing show!  Genie was the highlight for the girls.

Another weekend we stayed in pajamas all day and the girls channeled their inner Michelangelo.  Haley has a book that gave her the idea, so we tried it out.  Didn't last too long as the floor was very uncomfortable and hard.

School had World Book Day and the girls picked out their favorite characters.  Matilda for Haley and Sophie (from the BFG) for Emily.  I think they definitely fit the part.

London Natural History Museum

In January Zach went back to the States for a few weeks for a course, so the girls and I got to take several girls trips.  Our first was a day trip to the London Natural History Museum.  We spent all day (5 hours to be exact!) exploring the museum.  I'm fairly certain that we didn't even see everything!  It was such a fun day!

We started with the animatronic T-Rex.  He actually moved his head around and roared.  It was pretty real looking and sounding.

We moved on to bugs, which the girls loved, me not so much (ick).

Of course we had to see the dinosaurs!

Our last stop was the ocean section.  It was incredible!

I had such a fun day out with my girls!

Christmas

It seems like Christmas just flew by!

The girls were so excited that it was finally Christmas Eve.  Maybe it was because they got to open one present and then leave out the milk and cookies for Santa and carrots for the reindeer.

On Christmas morning they were so happy to see that Santa left a note for them.

Then began the the opening of all the presents.  One little girl even enjoyed becoming the present.

We had a nice quiet rest of the day at home while the girls enjoyed all their gifts.

Christmas Fun

We stayed pretty busy this Christmas season.  So much to do!

It started with the girls school Christmas show.  Big girl got to be in the choir while Little Miss was the Angel.  Both did a wonderful job!

Then the girls participated in the base Christmas parade with their Girl Scout troops.  Afterwards there were crafts and treats.

Then came bowling with Santa.  It really doesn't get much better than that.  I didn't even get a picture of the girls with the big guy, but trust me, it was loads of fun!

School finally let out and we were able to have some pajama days around the house.  One of those days we made our cookies for Santa.  The girls got to pick what kind of cookies to leave out and they chose blossoms.  I always love baking with my babies.

The weekend before Christmas we trekked down to London and went to the Shard, the tallest building in western Europe.  We thought it would be fun getting to see all of London lit with with Christmas cheer.

It certainly was beautiful!

Afterwards we found a fun food market and had dinner.

On the way out we bought these giant cookies!  So big!  So yummy!

We had loads of fun leading up to the big day!
